Meet Amanda Taylor

Amanda Taylor is a poet, artist, and single mother to a ten year old boy. She was introduced to us by the Foundation for Women and quickly touched our hearts with her determination to use her talents to start a business and support her son. For the SD Mom’s Night  Out 1 Year Anniversary Party, proceeds of each ticket will go to Amanda Taylor to help jump start her business.

Interview with Amanda Taylor:

What are your business/career goals? Currently, I am looking for employment. In terms of business goals, I am hoping to enter the world of Ebook publishing, find my market audience, and continue writing.

How has Foundation For Women helped you to get closer to realizing those goals? I have been a member of the Foundation for Women since March of this year. The Foundation for Women has been very helpful in giving me access to business mentors, marketing workshops, as well as instilling the postitive energy to move forward.

As a recipient of our fundraiser, what will you accomplish with the funds provided to you? I hope to set up my own website, blog, and format more of my writings for Ebook publishing. My ultimate goal as a writer and everyday person is to inspire and motivate other people.

What advice or encouragement can you give to other moms? To be more aware of what they do with their time. It’s too easy to fall into the routine of wasting time with useless phone calls, television, and strolling around stores for “fun”. If you don’t have time, make it, especially if it’s for your children.
